Palestinian President expresses gratitude to Spain for supporting the Palestinian cause with firm principles

Mahmud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, expressed his gratitude to Pedro Sánchez, the President of Spain, for Spain’s unwavering support of the Palestinian cause. He thanked Spain for its firm stance in advocating for a just peace and stability in the region, especially in light of Israel’s ongoing aggression.

Abbas specifically appreciated Spain’s repeated calls for an immediate ceasefire and for providing unrestricted humanitarian aid to alleviate the dire situation of the Palestinian people. He acknowledged and praised Spain’s efforts to recognize an independent State of Palestine and implement a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully.

Abbas described Spain as a friendly country and expressed his full confidence in Sánchez’s ability to make decisions that would facilitate peace and stability in the region. In a letter collected by Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency, he extended his wishes for peace and prosperity to King Felipe VI, the Government, and the Spanish people.
