Rallying Against F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix: Local Business Owners Fight Back

Local business owners support petition opposing 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

A new petition has been launched to stop the 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix from taking place, with local business owners leading the charge. The Flamingo Bridge is set to return later this year and the petition is gaining momentum as local residents and business owners unite against the upcoming event. Ferraro’s Ristorante owner Gino Ferraro stated that the goal is to raise awareness among Las Vegas leaders about the negative economic impact and inconvenience that the event caused in the past.

Business owners in the Resort Corridor, particularly those near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, claim to have lost millions in profits due to F1 construction last year. These businesses are adamant about preventing the Grand Prix from happening again, citing the loss of customers as a major concern. They are seeking support to pressure Clark County into denying the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix’s special use permit, which is required for the race to proceed. The county has not yet scheduled a meeting to discuss the permit.

Las Vegas resident Ladane Hayten expressed frustration over the construction and stated that he would be the first to sign the petition. Despite efforts to reach out to F1 and Clark County for comments, no response has been received as of Monday night. Support for the petition has been widespread, drawing interest from various community members such as limo and Uber drivers.
