Rebeca Andrade to Make Debut at 2024 FIG World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey

Rebeca Andrade, Brazil’s most decorated gymnast ever, is set to make her Olympic season debut at the World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey on Friday (29 March). The 24-year-old will be competing on the uneven bars, with all eyes on her as she is expected to be one of the standout performers in the artistic gymnastics competition.

Andrade has had an impressive career so far, with numerous accomplishments under her belt. She made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games by winning vault gold and all-around silver. She followed up with a gold in the 2022 World all-around competition, a first World team medal for Brazil, and a five-medal haul at the 2023 Worlds.

Joining Andrade in Antalya will be other gymnastics stars such as 2016 Olympic balance beam champion Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands, World team bronze medallist Melanie de Jesus dos Santos of France, and uneven bars World silver medalist Kaylia Nemour of Algeria. Andrade’s Brazilian teammates Flavia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, and Jade Barbosa, all medal winners, will also be competing.

In the women’s field, eight-time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina will be competing on all four apparatus as she prepares for the Asian Championships, which will be her final opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games.
