Record-Breaking Performances: Upstate High School Girls Athletes of the Week

The finalists for the Upstate high school girls athlete of the week for April 22-28 have been announced. Here are the standout performers from this past week:

Autumn Burrell from Hillcrest had a phenomenal performance at the Greenville County track and field championships, winning both the 100 meters (12.65) and 200 meters (25.05).

Nia Glover from Spartanburg broke a two-decades-old record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.74 at the Spartanburg County championships.

Meg Griffin from Belton-Honea Path went above and beyond in softball, hitting a home run and stealing five bases in two games. She also pitched a complete game in a win against Blacksburg.

Sydney Price from Landrum had an impressive showing in softball as well, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs while also pitching a complete game in a win against Blacksburg.

Addison Sharp from T.L. Hanna was outstanding on the mound, pitching two shutouts with 22 strikeouts as she led her team to wins over Dorman and Westside, both by scores of 3-0.

Madison Stanley from Wren stood out on the soccer field, scoring all four goals in her team’s 4-2 win over Fountain Inn.
