State Robotics Competition Wins First Place for NCMC SkillsUSA Team

Keaton Pettlon and Zachary Walker, both from Maryville, are members of North Central Missouri College’s robotics automation technology team. They recently competed in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition at State Tech in Linn and took first place. Their victory qualified them to compete at the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA, which will be held on June 24-28.

Rick Sharp, an industrial technology instructor at NCMC, coached the team and expressed his confidence in their abilities. He believes that they will be strong contenders at the national level, competing against the upper two percent of the nation in the RAT (Robotics Automation Technology) contest. With Sharp’s guidance and the team’s dedication, they are well-prepared to represent NCMC at the upcoming national competition.

The team completed their contest skill challenge successfully and finished it in record time. This achievement is a testament to their hard work and talent in the field of robotics automation technology. Both Pettlon and Walker expressed their gratitude for Sharp’s support and guidance throughout their journey.
