Record Summer Tourist Season Expected in Croatia as Survey Shows Favor for Vacationing Abroad and Activities

Revolut study finds Croatia as the fourth most popular European holiday destination among tourists

A survey by Revolut has shown that 60% of Croatians plan to spend their vacation in July and August, making them one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe. The research was conducted on 15,000 people across Europe during the tourist season, including 1,000 in Croatia. June and September are also popular vacation months for Croats, with 6% and 11% respectively planning a holiday during those months.

According to Revolut’s data, a majority of Europeans plan to go on vacation abroad this year, with Italy, Greece, and Spain being the most popular destinations. Croatia ranks fourth on the list of most popular destinations in Europe. Other non-European destinations include the USA, Egypt, and Thailand. Last year, Croatia attracted the most visitors from Poland, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Czech Republic.

When it comes to vacation activities among Croats, beach time is the most popular choice (52%), followed by spending time with family (32%). Some also plan to explore nature and flora and fauna (16%) or take a city break (15%). Wellness center vacations are also popular among Croats (10%), as well as staying at home (11%). These preferences are similar to those of other Europeans who prioritize beach time as their top choice for vacation activities.

Revolut’s Travel Report research analyzed how Europeans spend their holidays and found that visiting local sights and trying local cuisine were popular among all respondents. All-inclusive accommodations were also a preferred choice for many respondents. Different countries had unique preferences when it came to vacation activities – Lithuania preferred caravanning and camping while Austria focused on sports holidays. Greece and Spain were known for party holidays while Italians prioritized culinary arts over health and beauty like Austrians did.

Ingrida Daunaraviciene from Revolut commented on the upcoming record tourist season in Croatia: “We’re excited about our users’ plans for this summer season,” she said.” Our travel features can help make their trips more memorable.”
