Good Girl Brewing Co. is set to open its doors in Aiken on May 7th. The brewery and restaurant, located at 880 Banks Mill Road S.E., will serve craft beer made on-site as well as food. The building, which was previously home to Found Treasures, an antiques and collectibles store that closed in 2020, has been fully renovated by the ownership team of Andrew and Rachael Phifer, along with their friends Paul and Morgan Batton, and Rachael’s parents.
The property for Good Girl was purchased for $259,000 by Phifer Brewing LLC in January 2021. The brewery faced several challenges during the construction process, including delays due to zoning permits, rising material costs, loan approvals and construction delays. However, the team prioritized doing things right and to the best of their abilities. Despite any delays they have faced during the construction process they are proud of the outcome.
In other news, Powderhouse Apartments in Aiken has been sold to Maki Developments LLC for $2.3 million. The deal was completed on March 19th with Maki Developments taking over the 10-acre site located at 3037 Old Powderhouse Road. Maki Developments is based in New York and was formed in March with Registered Agents Inc as its registered agent.
Finally, Dollar General Store at 132 Rudy Mason Parkway in Aiken now offers produce following a recent remodel. Dollar General aims to be a positive business partner and community neighbor in Aiken according to Matthew Simonsen, senior vice president of real estate and store development at Dollar General Corporation
