Rising Sales and Operating Profit: Remedy’s Success Story and Future Prospects

Royalties and development fees boost turnover as Remedy’s operating loss is less than anticipated

Remedy, a gaming company, has reported that sales of its newest game continue to be strong, with an average price that remains high. The company is already looking ahead to future projects and the possibility of self-publishing games.

In the business overview for the beginning of the year, Remedy reported an operating loss of EUR 2.1 million and a turnover of EUR 10.8 million. Analysts had forecasted a larger loss at EUR 7.5 million, with turnover at EUR 7.1 million. Despite this, the company attributes its recent growth to the success of Alan Wake 2, which was released at the end of last year and has sold 1.3 million copies as of February.

Remedy’s CEO, Tero Virtala, stated that the company’s focus is on developing new projects, including additional content for Alan Wake 2. The company’s outlook for the year remains unchanged, with expectations of increased turnover and improved operating profit.

The decision to self-publish or find a new partner for upcoming games will have a significant impact on Remedy’s future success. Projects like Codename Condor and Control 2 are currently in development and will influence financial results in the coming year.

Overall, Remedy is optimistic about its future prospects and remains committed to delivering high-quality gaming experiences to its fans.
