Mountain Guide Passes Away in Nepal After Conquering World’s Fifth-Highest Peak

Nepali guides and porters are at the forefront of fatalities on the Himalayas, as evidenced by the recent death of Lakpa Tenji Sherpa after summiting Mount Makalu. Despite the risks, Nepal has issued permits to 59 foreign climbers for Mount Makalu, with many successfully reaching the top after a rope-fixing team paved the way last month.
