Rod Wave and Young Gangsters Linked to Easter Sunday Shooting Outside St. Petersburg Bar

Several arrests made in shooting incident outside St. Petersburg sports bar on Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, a shooting occurred outside a sports bar in St. Petersburg, leaving four people injured. The suspects responsible for the shooting are linked to rapper Rodarius Green, also known as “Rod Wave.” Three suspects have been arrested, with two more expected to be taken into custody.

The investigation into the shooting began when police identified a group known as “Young Gangsters,” or YGs, as the perpetrators. Chief Anthony Holloway stated that the suspects fired shots into a crowd outside the Sonic Sports Bar and Lounge, leaving more than 60 shell casings at the scene. The Young Gangsters are closely associated with Rod Wave and were found to live in homes registered in his name.

During the investigation, police discovered multiple firearms, ammunition, cash, and jewelry in connection to the suspects. The victims of the shooting were not acquainted with the shooters and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Additionally, six vehicles were damaged by gunfire.

The three suspects in custody are facing charges of attempted second-degree murder. Kevontre Wesby also faces charges of carrying a concealed firearm and delinquent possession of a firearm. The arrests in this case are part of ongoing investigations into shooting and drug trafficking activities linked to the Young Gangsters and Rod Wave.
