Moscow’s stance remains unchanged, despite Ukraine’s rejection of similar proposals in the past. Zakharova emphasized that Ukraine must commit to being a neutral country without military alliances with NATO or any other blocs. This condition has been a sticking point in previous negotiations between the two countries.
Furthermore, Zakharova announced that Russia will not participate in the upcoming conference on Ukraine in Switzerland. According to her, Swiss authorities do not address Russia’s security concerns adequately, and Moscow is only willing to negotiate on terms that align with its own priorities.
Moscow has made it clear that it is unwilling to negotiate on anything other than its own terms, which accommodates its security concerns. Despite this, Ukraine has rejected similar proposals in the past and continues to reject them now.
