Saints Part Ways with QB Kellen Mond and Offensive Lineman Tommy Kraemer as They Prepare for the Upcoming Season

Saints release Kellen Mond and Tommy Kraemer

Quarterback Kellen Mond’s time with the Saints has come to an end as they have waived him along with offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer. The NFL’s daily transaction report confirmed the news. Though no new players were added to the roster immediately, it is expected that the team will make additions in the coming days, especially with their rookie minicamp scheduled for this weekend.

Mond had signed with the Saints in mid-April, but his departure was anticipated after the team drafted Spencer Rattler in the fifth round, bringing their total number of quarterbacks to five. As a result of Mond’s release, the Saints will now move forward with Rattler, Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman as their quarterbacks alongside Derek Carr. Kraemer, who had appeared in four games for New Orleans last season and spent time with the Lions in 2021 playing in nine games for them, has been let go by the team.

With both Mond and Kraemer out of the picture, the Saints are gearing up for the upcoming season with renewed focus and clarity on their roster composition.
