South Carolina Secures Victory in NCAA Women’s Championship: A Visual Recap

South Carolina secured the NCAA women’s basketball national championship with an impressive 87-75 victory over Iowa in Cleveland on Sunday. The win completed a perfect 38-0 season for the Gamecocks.

Iowa’s star guard, Caitlin Clark, played her final college game, capping off a record-setting season with the Hawkeyes. The matchup was highly anticipated as Iowa narrowly defeated UConn 71-69 to advance to the title game for the second consecutive year.

Leading up to the championship game, Iowa had the top three most-viewed women’s college basketball games of all time. This included their Final Four win against UConn with 14.2 million viewers, their Elite Eight victory over LSU with 12.3 million viewers, and last year’s national championship game against LSU with 9.9 million viewers.

South Carolina earned their spot in the final by beating North Carolina State University 78-59. Over the last three seasons, South Carolina boasts an impressive record of 109-3, making them one of the most dominant teams in women’s basketball history.
