South Carolina’s Clutch Victory Over Indiana Puts Them on the Brink of a Perfect Season in NCAA Women’s Basketball

Cardoso Contributes to S.C.’s Undefeated Streak with Victory Against Indiana

South Carolina has just defeated Indiana 79-75 to advance to the Albany 1 Regional Final of the women’s NCAA Tournament. Led by Kamilla Cardoso’s impressive 22 points, the Gamecocks are now 35-0 and three wins away from completing a perfect season.

The Gamecocks had dominated their previous March Madness games, winning by blowout margins of 52 and 47 points. However, they faced a tougher challenge from Indiana in this game. The Hoosiers, led by Sydney Parrish’s strong performance with 21 points, mounted a spirited comeback after falling behind by 22 points in the third quarter.

Indiana got within two points of South Carolina in the final minutes, but a clutch 3-pointer by Raven Johnson helped the Gamecocks maintain their lead and secure the victory. Despite South Carolina’s strong start, Indiana fought back and made it a competitive game. The defense played by Cardoso against Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes was crucial in securing the win for South Carolina.

South Carolina will next face Oregon State in the Regional Final. The Gamecocks previously defeated Oregon State 59-42 in the NCAA Tournament three years ago. With an undefeated record on the line and a chance to make history, South Carolina will aim to continue their impressive run in the tournament.
