Standout Athletes of the 2019-20 Basketball Season: Derek Ebersole, Jon Sheldon, and More!

The 2019-20 basketball season was filled with impressive performances from players across the ECIC and CCAA leagues. Several standout athletes were recognized for their exceptional play, including Bishop Butts and Jon Sheldon, who were named to the ECIC Division 1 Second-Team All-Star and CCAA Division 2 East First-Team All-Star, respectively.

Bishop Butts had a standout season for his team, the Red & Green, averaging an impressive 10 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while also blocking a remarkable 65 shots for his team. His contributions helped the Red & Green secure both the Section VI Class AA1 and crossover titles as well as the Far West Regional, finishing with a record of 21-5.

Jon Sheldon’s impressive stat line included averaging 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 blocked shots per game for Pine Valley’s Panthers. Sheldon’s performance was crucial in helping his team win the Section VI Class D title and reach the Far West Regional.

In addition to these two outstanding players, several other athletes received recognition for their exceptional play during the season. Derek Ebersole from North Collins was named CCAA Division 2 East Player of the Year after averaging an impressive stat line that included an incredible average of 24.5 points per game along with four steals, four rebounds, and four assists per game for his team’s Eagles despite their record of just eight wins out of thirteen games in regular season playoffs they managed to reach prequarterfinals in Section VI Class C championships . Jack Mansfield from Maple Grove was also recognized as a CCAA Division
