Bedoya recalled an incident in 2023 when she spilled coffee in her car and got out to clean it up. A man approached her, offering help, but then tried to grab her from behind. Drawing on her training, Bedoya was able to kick and push him away before fleeing in her car. Her instructor, Tom Bacha, praised Bedoya’s quick actions and emphasized the importance of mental and physical training in handling such situations.

Bedoya credits her Krav Maga classes for giving her the confidence to defend herself effectively. The experience has reinforced Bedoya’s belief in the value of training for self-defense. She believes that even a little knowledge can make a difference in staying safe.
