Patriots and Safety Kyle Dugger Reach New Four-Year Contract Agreement

Kyle Dugger signs four-year contract with Patriots

The New England Patriots and safety Kyle Dugger have reached an agreement on a new contract, according to reports from NFL Media. This comes after the Patriots used a transition tag on him earlier in the offseason, which allowed them to match any offers he received from other teams. However, no offer sheet was ultimately signed.

Under his new four-year deal with the team, Dugger’s base value is $58 million, with a maximum value of $66 million and $32.5 million in guaranteed money. Prior to signing this new contract, Dugger was on track to earn $13.815 million under the transition tag.

Dugger, who was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Patriots, has been a key part of the team’s defense. In his time with the Patriots, he has recorded 343 tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interception returns for touchdowns, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
