Taylor Pendrith Secures First PGA Tour Title with Final Hole Birdie in Intense Battle with Ben Kohles

Pendrith stays composed to secure first PGA Tour victory

Canadian golfer Taylor Pendrith secured his first PGA Tour title at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas with a final hole birdie. Despite a late charge from American Ben Kohles, who birdied the 16th and 17th holes to briefly take the lead, Pendrith held his nerve and clinched victory on the 18th when Kohles faltered with a bad drive and missed par putt.

Pendrith finished the tournament at 22 under par, making key birdies throughout the round. He was grateful for his opportunity to win and expressed excitement about his success. Kohles’ strong performance did not diminish Pendrith’s achievement, as he remained calm and focused on his game.

In addition to the top finishers, English pair Aaron Rai and Matt Wallace tied for fourth place, finishing at 20 under par. Sixteen-year-old amateur Kris Kim also gained valuable experience with a round of 73 for a two-over total. Pendrith’s victory marked a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his resilience and skill on the course.
