Temple Coach Dawn Staley Shows Support for Philadelphia 76ers During Loss, Reflects on Women’s Basketball Success and the Importance of Media Coverage

Philadelphia native Dawn Staley visits Mitchell & Ness for Allen Iverson gear and supports the 76ers in Game 4.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers fell short in their series against the New York Knicks. Despite the loss, North Philly native and former Temple University women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley showed her support for the team at their game in South Philly. Staley, wearing an Allen Iverson T-shirt, made a pitstop at Mitchell & Ness before the game to ensure she looked stylish while courtside.

While watching the game, Staley was mic’d up by the Sixers and displayed her excitement and enthusiasm for the sport. Despite being a national championship-winning coach, Staley’s actions showed she is just like any other fan. Following her third NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship win with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Staley reflected on her success and discussed the current state of women’s basketball in a recent interview with Ukee Washington, Jessica Kartalija, and Sports Director Don Bell.

In addition to sharing her thoughts on her recent victory, Staley also highlighted Jessica MacAulay, a digital producer for CBSPhiladelphia.com, who has continued to cover her accomplishments and dedication to women’s basketball.
