The Chicago White Sox’s Third Baseman Yoán Moncada Sustains an Injury, Leaving Baseball Fans Worried

Yoán Moncada of the White Sox sidelined for 3-6 months due to adductor strain

The Chicago White Sox’s third baseman, Yoán Moncada, is currently out of action after sustaining a left adductor strain during a game against the Cleveland Guardians. The injury occurred in the second inning of the White Sox’s 7-5 victory when Moncada fell while trying to reach first base on a ground ball to third. He collapsed in pain and was subsequently ruled out due to the strain.

Prior to the injury, Moncada had been playing through minor soreness in his hip and groin area, hitting a single and stealing a base in the game before he got hurt. This season marked his eighth with the White Sox, with a batting average of .270 and 10 hits.

Despite Moncada’s absence, the White Sox managed to secure the win against the Guardians, with a notable performance from Dominic Fletcher. This victory came after a streak of losses for the team, who had only secured one win earlier in the season against the Atlanta Braves. The White Sox will continue their series against the Guardians before heading home to face the Reds in a three-game series starting Friday.
