The Oak Ridge Boys Facing Tragedy: Losing Band Members and Bandmates, as Well as Grateful for Love and Support.

Iconic country music band devastated by tragic loss of three members and ongoing health struggles

The Oak Ridge Boys have faced numerous challenges in the country music world this year. They have lost several members of their family, including two band members losing their wives and another medically retiring. The most recent tragedy was the passing of frontman Duane Allen’s wife, Norah Lee Allen, on Easter.

Duane took to Facebook to express his gratitude for the love and support he has received since his wife’s death. He shared how difficult it is to go through six decades of collected items and memories in their home without her by his side.

The emotional toll of losing his wife has been immense for Duane, who described Norah as the love of his life and the most beautiful woman he ever met. The band has also faced challenges with the loss of singer Richard Sterban’s wife’s father and guitarist Donnie Carr’s wife earlier in the year.

To top it all off, tenor Joe Bonsall announced his retirement from the road due to a medical condition at the age of 75. Despite these hardships, The Oak Ridge Boys remain grateful for the support of fans and hope that eternity will give them solace during these difficult times.
