The Return of the Funhouse Commons Science Fair: Celebrating Young Innovators and Raising Awareness for Conservation and Environmental Science

The Funhouse Science Fair Returns

The Funhouse Commons is thrilled to announce the return of their 20th Science Fair, taking place on Saturday, April 27th from 12-4 PM. This beloved event has been a tradition since 2001 and showcases the innovative discoveries made by young scientists. After a four-year break, the Funhouse Commons is bringing back this event with renewed energy and passion to engage the community.

All Orcas K-12 students are encouraged to register their projects for the Science Fair. In addition, community members who want to showcase their work in conservation and environmental science are welcome to participate. If you are interested in being a vendor or volunteer at the fair, please reach out to Ryan@thefunhouse.org.

This year’s Science Fair will have an Earth Day theme and will feature free food and drinks, live music, community exhibits, and inspiring projects from our young participants. Every participant will receive an award, and top prizes will be awarded in elementary, middle, and high school categories. The coveted Richie Moore “Rocket Ship of Wonder” will be presented to the best-in-show projects.

The Funhouse Commons aims to raise $5,000 to cover the costs of food, beverages, awards, prizes, and supplies for the event. Volunteers are also needed to help with setup, activities, and cleanup. Your tax-deductible donation and volunteer time are crucial in making this event a success. Let’s come together as a community to create something truly special! Remember that it takes both a village and the Funhouse Commons to make this Science Fair magical for everyone involved!
