Results from Round 1 of the 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship

The inaugural round of the 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship, the GP of Comunitat Valenciana, took place in Albaida, Spain on April 20-21. It was a thrilling contest between French rider Thomas Chareyre and German number-one plate holder Mark Reiner Schmidt. Ultimately, Chareyre emerged victorious, securing the overall win with his dominant performance on a Honda CRF450R.

Despite facing tough competition from KTM rider Julen Avila Cortes of Spain and Honda riders Elia Sammartin from Italy and Ferran Cardus from Spain, Schmidt finished in a close second on a TM. Cortes finished third overall, while Sammartin and Cardus completed the top five finishers.

In the SuperMoto Legends class, Czech rider Petr Vorlicek clinched the victory ahead of Great Britain’s Jay Smith and Scott Murray. Germany’s Mark Reiner Schmidt secured the runner-up spot on a TM.
