Three Hauppauge Students Receive Top Awards at 2024 PWGC Science Fair: Mihir Sathish Kumar, Vaibhavi Hedge, Ishaan Maheshkumar

Hauppauge Middle School Students Awarded Medals at PWGC Science Fair

Recently, three students from Hauppauge Middle School took part in the 2024 PWGC Science Fair and were awarded for their research projects. Vaibhavi Hedge won third place for her project on creating biodegradable plastic, while Ishaan Maheshkumar came in second with his study on energy conservation using the Seebeck Effect. Mihir Sathish Kumar secured first place with his research on microplastic filtration and was presented with a $1,000 cash prize.

The Hauppauge School District praised the students for their outstanding achievements and recognized their hard work. Director of Science and Research, Robert Wankmuller, congratulated the winners and thanked their science research teacher, Janice Caffrey, for her dedication to guiding them through the science fair process. The district expressed its pride in the students’ accomplishments and their contributions to the field of science.

The three young scientists were thrilled to receive recognition for their efforts and are excited to continue pursuing scientific research in the future.
