Tiger Woods Sets New Record for Consecutive Masters Cuts with 24th Cut in a Row

Tiger Woods Achieves Masters Milestone with 24th Straight Cut Made

Tiger Woods has set a new record in his illustrious career by making the cut for a 24th consecutive time at the Masters. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 23 consecutive cuts held by Gary Player and Fred Couples. Despite battling injuries and a lengthy 23-hole Friday, Woods finished with a 36-hole score of 1-over-par 145, comfortably inside the projected cut line of 4 over.

Woods had to complete his first round from the previous day due to a weather delay, making two bogeys and three pars to post a 1-over 73. In the challenging second round, he made four birdies and four bogeys to card an even-par 72, showcasing his resilience and determination. However, his level of physical exertion is no longer as easy for him as he has been plagued by injuries in recent years. Following a car crash in February 2021 that left him with injuries to his legs, ankle, and foot, Woods has played sparingly. His most recent tournament appearance was the Genesis Invitational in February where he withdrew after 24 holes due to illness.

Despite these challenges, Woods remains determined and focused on the major championships ahead. Reflecting on his recent struggles, Woods acknowledged that his body and game were not ready earlier in the year but is hopeful that he can find his rhythm now that the major championship season is in full swing. His impressive record of 24 consecutive Masters cuts made has been achieved over several years with his last missed cut coming in 1996 as an amateur. Since then, Woods has continued to compete at a high level adding to his Masters victories in 1997, 2001, 2002,
