Transavia revs up in Montpellier: “Back in the game”

Transavia, an Air-France-KLM subsidiary, is expanding its presence in Hérault with the addition of three new destinations: Istanbul (Turkey), Rabat (Morocco), and Oran (Algeria). The airline has made Montpellier its hub for the Mediterranean market, serving a total of 14 destinations in nine countries.

The company aims to increase the number of passengers by offering an additional 20,000 seats from Montpellier this summer and reaching an 80% occupancy rate. Nicolas Hénin, deputy general manager of Transavia, explains that the high demand for the Istanbul route will operate twice a week. In 2023, the airline transported 284,000 passengers from Montpellier and plans to reach 340,000 tickets in 2024.

Besides expanding its services from Montpellier, Transavia is also focusing on the development of the Montpellier-Paris-Orly line. Emmanuel Brehmer, airport director at Orly highlights that with Paris metro’s Line 14 extension to Orly will provide easy access to the center of the capital at a lower cost than TGV.

In addition to these developments, Transavia is launching a new service from Toulouse to Dubai with plans for further expansion in the coming months. The airline is committed to providing affordable and convenient travel options for passengers both domestically and internationally.
