Twitter’s Recent Account Blocking Policy Update: Giving Users More Control over Interactions and Reporting Inappropriate Content

Twitter will no longer hide responses from blocked accounts

Twitter has recently updated its account blocking policy, giving users the ability to view responses from people and accounts they have previously blocked on the platform. The change aims to give users more control over their interactions with others and allow them to identify and report any inappropriate content that was previously hidden from them.

Previously, when a user blocked another account, the blocked account could still respond to the user’s posts, but the user couldn’t see those responses. With this update, users can now view responses to their posts from accounts they have previously blocked. This feature is intended to give users greater control over their experience while still maintaining public visibility of posts.

It’s worth noting that Twitter owner Elon Musk had previously expressed his dislike for the blocking feature and announced plans to remove it except for direct messages. However, despite this opposition, the updated blocking feature now allows users to view responses from previously blocked accounts. The Twitter Engineering account emphasized the importance of allowing users to control their experience while still having access to the public forum.
