Whitefish Lake Institute hosts ‘Science Quencher’ discussions

The Science Quencher is an upcoming event hosted by the Whitefish Lake Institute. This unique gathering will take place on April 26 from 5-7 p.m. at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake and feature discussions on fish, sheep, owls, and rivers by local scientists.

Attendees will have the chance to interact with local science experts who are passionate about natural resource and conservation issues. Speakers include Sam Bourret, a fisheries biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks; Carol Treadwell, finance and grants manager for Whitefish Lake Institute, and chief wool handler at Steitzhof Merinos; Denver Holt, founder and president of The Owl Research Institute; and Dakota Whitman, a fluvial geomorphologist with River Design Group.

Durae Belcer, program coordinator at the Whitefish Lake Institute describes the Science Quencher as a fun local gathering that covers a variety of topics. Each presentation will be a 10-15 minute “lightning round” talk with an opportunity for questions from the audience.
