Unprecedented Attack: Iran Strikes Israel in Retaliation, Utilizing Missiles and Drones

Iran claims attack goals met, Israel says attack nearly thwarted

An unprecedented direct attack on Israel by Iran occurred recently, in retaliation for an earlier incident at the Iranian embassy in Damascus where seven members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were killed. The attack happened during the night and saw hundreds of missiles and drones launched from Iran, with some originating from allies in the Middle East. Both countries confirmed the use of ballistic missiles in the attack.

Israel was able to intercept and shoot down a significant number of incoming missiles using its air defenses, with assistance from American, British, and Jordanian air forces. Initial reports suggested minimal personal and material damage, with a ten-year-old child reportedly seriously injured and some damage to an Israeli military base. However, more information about the attack and its consequences will continue to emerge as the situation develops.
