UofL Health selected as new sports medicine partner for Louisville’s professional soccer teams

UofL Health doctors announced a new collaboration with coaches and players from Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC at Cardinal Station medical center. The partnership aims to provide the best medical care for both teams, with UofL Health physicians taking charge of their medical needs. Brett Hayes, vice president of UofL Health’s Sports Medicine Institute, expressed that their team will be present at every home game to handle emergencies and other medical needs.

The partnership brings a wide range of services and cutting-edge sports medicine to the players. During the announcement, they showcased a special platform utilizing motion capture technology to analyze the movement of athletes. Additionally, the data gathered from working with the players will inform treatments for regular patients in the future.

Racing Louisville Head Coach Beverly Yanez expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the privilege of having dedicated individuals supporting the team. The collaboration will also increase UofL Health’s visibility at Lynn Family Stadium, with naming rights to a field in the teams’ training center. Furthermore, the partnership aims to develop a community initiative to increase access to soccer for children in underserved areas.
