Urgent Warning from President Zelensky: Ukraine’s Future at Stake as Congress Delays Military Aid Amid Escalating Conflict with Russia

Ukraine Facing Defeat by Russia Without US Aid, Warns Mr. Zelensky

President Zelensky issued a dire warning about the potential for Ukraine to lose to Russia if Congress does not approve a significant additional military aid package. He emphasized the importance of convincing lawmakers that without their assistance, Ukraine may not be able to withstand the conflict with Russia and that the consequences could extend beyond its borders.

Ukraine has been urgently calling for a $60 billion aid package that has been stalled in Congress due to Republican opposition. The country heavily relies on military aid from the US, but this is now at risk as tensions escalate on the frontlines against Russian aggression.

Russian forces have intensified their attacks on cities like Chasov Yar in Donetsk province, posing a threat to Ukraine’s strategic locations. The situation in the area is described as difficult and tense, with Russia using ground attacks and air strikes. Attacks have also been reported in other regions of Ukraine, resulting in casualties and destruction.

In response to the escalating conflict, Russia claimed to have intercepted and destroyed Ukrainian drones near its border areas, including near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. This adds fuel to concerns about a potential nuclear war and further destabilization of the region.

Despite these developments, Zelensky remains hopeful that international support can help preserve Ukraine’s sovereignty and prevent a catastrophic outcome. He continues to call for increased military aid from the US and other countries while working tirelessly to de-escalate tensions with Russia.
