Challenges in Vietnam’s Innovation Ecosystem

Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem is rapidly growing, but faces challenges in terms of high-quality human resources, rapidly changing technology, and financial issues. At the Vietnam Technology Day event, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong highlighted the country’s recognition as having the most dynamic innovation ecosystem in the region. However, experts believe that challenges such as these must be addressed in order to maintain Vietnam’s advantage in innovation.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized the need for a clear legal framework to attract investment in new technologies. Ms. Lynn Hoang mentioned the opportunities for Vietnamese businesses in fields like blockchain, but stressed the importance of balancing technology with policy. Dr. Tran Viet Huan discussed the importance of a sustainable foundation for innovation, citing the lag in cloud computing in Vietnam compared to other countries.

It is clear that in order to maintain its advantage in innovation, Vietnam must address these challenges and focus on developing its human resources and legal frameworks. Experts highlighted the significance of human resources in sustaining Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem, and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh mentioned the potential for higher income levels if new technologies are embraced. Dr. Le Khanh Duy emphasized the need for attractive working environments to retain tech talents in Vietnam.
