Wintry Storm Departs, Bringing Mixed Precipitation and Breezy Conditions to the Region

Weather forecaster Craig Adams has reported that the wintry storm that hit the region today with a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain will be leaving us tonight. The precipitation is expected to taper off early tonight and clear skies will follow. Breezy conditions are anticipated as the storm departs, with high pressure building in the north bringing bright skies for Sunday. However, temperatures will remain chilly. Quiet weather is predicted to continue into Sunday night and Monday, with temperatures moderating a bit more on Monday.

On Tuesday, clouds will start to increase ahead of an approaching frontal system. While it is expected to remain dry initially, there is potential for rain later on Tuesday night and into Wednesday as the frontal system moves through the region. Dry weather is forecast for the latter half of the week, with temperatures approaching seasonal averages for late March. The normal high for late March is around 50 degrees.

For tonight, snow and mixed precipitation will come to an end early and skies will clear while breezy conditions develop. Northwest winds are predicted to increase to 10-20 mph, with lows in the range of 17-22 degrees. On Sunday, we can expect mostly sunny skies but still chilly and somewhat breezy at times with northwest winds around 10-15 mph and highs of 35-40 degrees.

Sunday night will see mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to lows of 15-20 degrees. Monday will be mostly sunny but a bit milder with northeast winds around 10 mph and highs of 42-47 degrees
