Accenture Federal Services Acquires Federal Health Technology Firm Cognosante; John Goodman Provides Comments

In a recent announcement, Accenture Federal Services has acquired Cognosante, a leading provider of digital transformation and cloud modernization platforms for federal health care programs. The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, but Cognosante has been offering cloud migration support, program management, and technology platforms to support veterans, active-duty personnel, providers, and other beneficiaries since 2008.

With this acquisition, Accenture’s federal arm is expected to integrate Cognosante’s more than 1,500 personnel. The acquisition is pending regulatory assessment and other customary closing conditions. John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services, stated that the company is focused on innovating and investing to help federal agencies meet the evolving needs of their missions and customers.

Goodman expressed admiration for Cognosante’s capabilities, people, and impact. Through the acquisition, both entities will use technology to address the country’s priorities. Michele Kang, founder and CEO of Cognosante also commented on the acquisition.
