Atm Takes Bold Step into French Bus Market: Milan’s Public Transport Company Bids for Grand Paris Express and RATP Contracts

Italian company ATM applies to operate bus lines in Grand Paris instead of RATP

Azienda Trasporti Milanesi (ATM), a public company in Milan, Italy, has announced its intention to bid for various bus contracts in Paris and its surroundings, as well as the operation of line 18 of the Grand Paris Express in 2030. Despite previous unsuccessful attempts on other lines, ATM and their French partner Egis are confident in their operational expertise, having successfully managed bus, tram, and metro lines in Milan. With plans to expand to the Paris region, the group sees the development of the Grand Paris Express and the opening of RATP bus network to competition as an exciting opportunity.

In preparation for bidding on contracts, ATM France is forming a team with French members to establish a presence in the country. The company aims to assure both decision-makers and the French public of their commitment to quality service and employee well-being. As the public transport landscape in Paris undergoes changes, uncertainty looms for RATP workers. However, ATM reassures that they prioritize employee satisfaction and are actively engaging with union organizations to address any concerns. The company is working closely with Île-de-France Mobilités to complete their submissions before the bidding process concludes.

Overall, ATM is poised to enter the French market with confidence and aims to establish a strong and reliable transportation service for Paris and its surrounding areas.
