Daring the Storm: 77-Year-Old Activist Anne Wright Leads Next ‘Solidarity Flotilla’ Amidst Israeli Intervention

The Descendants: Children of Che Guevara and Nelson Mandela Sent to Gaza in ‘Marmara 2’

Plans are underway for the next “solidarity flotilla” to be dispatched from Turkey to the Gaza Strip. The flotilla, consisting of pro-Palestinian activists from various countries, will include intellectuals, journalists, former politicians, doctors, former military officers, and lawyers. Participants come from countries such as Turkey, Cuba, South Africa, the USA, and more.

Among the organizers of the flotilla is 77-year-old Anne Wright, the daughter of Ernesto Che Guevara and Aleida Guevara and the grandson of Nelson Mandela. The launch of the flotilla has been delayed multiple times as Israel negotiates with Ankara to prevent its arrival.

The participants are carrying 5,500 tons of humanitarian aid equivalent to 100 trucks. Plans are being discussed for the aid to be unloaded in Egypt before being delivered to Gaza. The flotilla includes three ships carrying aid and passengers preparing for various interception scenarios.

Pro-Palestinian activists anticipate challenges such as being stopped from sailing from Turkey or being intercepted and detained by Israelis in international waters. They are rehearsing their response to these scenarios to ensure they can deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza successfully.
