Government Publishes Implementing Decree for CPF Fee, but Not for Car and Motorcycle Licenses

Decree Mandating 100 Euro Liability Published as of May 2 by CPF

On April 30, the government published an implementing decree that finalized the decision to charge a 100 euro fee for anyone embarking on training through their Personal Training Account (CPF). This fee will take effect on May 2 and apply to each training course taken through the CPF. However, there are exceptions to this fee if the employer agrees to contribute to the training costs and for individuals undertaking retraining actions. Job seekers are not required to pay the fee. The fixed price of 100 euros will be reviewed annually based on changes in consumer prices.

In contrast, a decree restricting access to car and motorcycle licenses through the CPF has not yet been published. This measure follows an initial decision to allow financing for all types of licenses, but the government has now decided to limit access. It will no longer be possible to finance a motorcycle license if you already have a car license, or vice versa. The government cites the potential cost savings of this restriction, estimating a savings of over 200 million euros.
