Clean energy economy is rapidly expanding worldwide, and governments and firms are racing to establish their positions within this sector. The shift is being driven by new industrial strategies that enhance energy security and combat climate change. In response to a request from G7 Leaders in 2023, the Energy Technology Perspectives Special Report has been developed to provide decision makers with the tools they need to design and assess strategies for manufacturing clean technology.
The report outlines key principles to guide future planning in this sector, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. The analysis was initiated in response to a request from G7 Leaders in 2023 and is informed by insights from a High-level Dialogue on Diversifying Clean Technology Manufacturing at the IEA headquarters in Paris. Additionally, it draws on research conducted for the latest edition of Energy Technology Perspectives and two Special Briefings on clean technology manufacturing held throughout 2023.
