High School Softball and Baseball: A Roundup of District 1-6A and 2-5A Games from April 22, 2023

El Paso High School Sports Results: April 22-27

High school softball and baseball action took place on Monday, April 22, with several teams securing their positions for the upcoming playoffs. In District 1-6A, Eastwood defeated Socorro 3-1, with Miranda Guillen pitching a complete game and hitting a solo home run. Gaby DeAnda also contributed to the win with a 2-run RBI double. This victory secured Eastwood the 2nd seed for the playoffs. Meanwhile, Hanks earned the 2nd seed from District 2-5A by defeating Bel Air 10-0.

In high school baseball action, Ysleta edged out Bel Air 5-4 with Derek Licon picking up the win on the mound. Angel Flores, Moré Lozano, and Jacob Lopez led the offense with key hits and RBIs. Horizon also had a dominant performance, beating Hanks 10-2. Franklin Miller pitched 6 scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts, while several players contributed to the offensive output.

Other notable results from Monday’s games include Riverside defeating Irvin 16-2 with multiple players registering RBIs and Canutillo earning a 6-2 victory over Jefferson. Chapin, Burges, and Del Valle also secured convincing wins over their respective opponents.
