Man Arrested for Threatening to Open Fire in Business – No Weapon Found

Police say a 72-year-old man was arrested for threatening to shoot up a Willmar business

A 72-year-old man from Danube, located 25 miles south of Willmar, was arrested by police for allegedly making threats to open fire inside a business on South First Street. The arrest occurred just after 2 p.m. following a report from a 911 caller about the man’s threats. Despite the threats, the man did not have a firearm on him when he was taken into custody.

The Kandiyohi County Jail booked the man into their facility after his arrest. At this time, no charges have been filed against him. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and employees of the business were safely evacuated after the threatening call was made. The police are currently investigating the matter further to determine if any criminal charges will be filed against the man.
