Meta’s AI model, Llama 3, has been updated with a new feature called Imagine. This tool allows users to generate images by typing a prompt. Users can access Imagine on WhatsApp and the Meta AI website in beta. To use Imagine, users simply type the prompt “Imagine” followed by a description of the image they want to generate. As they type more letters, the image changes and can be animated or turned into a GIF. Additionally, Meta’s AI assistant provides specific recommendations based on user inputs, such as restaurant options with sunset views or vegan dishes.
While Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has called the company’s AI advancements “wild,” there is still work to be done to catch up with competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic. To stay competitive, Meta is training larger models of Llama 3 and plans to release them in the future. This release is expected to be on par with OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus. With these advancements, Meta is positioned to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI technology.
