Ms. Hernandez Wins Recognition in Teachers Federal Credit Union’s Annual Teacher Appreciation Week Contest

Victoria Hernandez, WFMS Science Teacher, Recognized as Finalist in TFCU Teacher Appreciation Week Contest

In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week from May 6-10, Teachers Federal Credit Union is hosting its 4th Annual Teacher Appreciation Week Contest. Ms. Hernandez, a sixth-grade general education and ENL science teacher at William Floyd Middle School, has been selected as one of the top six middle school level finalists out of 1,500 candidates.

Ms. Hernandez is known for her dedication to teaching excellence and leadership in the state. She is the driving force behind the school’s Science Fiction Club, which provides students with an outlet for their love of the genre while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of community among club members. Ms. Hernandez is committed to professional development and continuously seeks ways to enhance her teaching methods, stay updated on educational trends, and collaborate with fellow educators to refine her craft.

Teachers Federal Credit Union recognizes the significant impact educators have on students’ lives and aims to honor their commitment and dedication during Teacher Appreciation Week. As part of this contest, Ms. Hernandez has been given the opportunity to win a grant of up to $2,500 for her classroom, which will be used to build an interactive vertical garden using coding and technology.
