New Propane Expert Tapped to Drive Sustainable Energy Solutions in Transportation Sector

PERC recruits new director for autogas development initiative

David Walters, a seasoned expert in driving sustainable energy solutions in the transportation sector, has been appointed as the new director of autogas business development at the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). In his new role, Walters will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic market plans to increase the adoption of propane autogas and support the research and development of innovative products in the industry.

Tucker Perkins, president and CEO of PERC, expressed confidence in Walters’ abilities, noting his extensive experience in business development and sales leadership in the energy industry. With over 25 years of expertise, Walters brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, particularly in hydrogen and RNG.

Prior to joining PERC, Walters served as the national sales manager at Atlas Copco Compressor, where he played a key role in directing business development and overseeing product integration across multiple North American regions. Walters is excited to begin this new chapter with PERC, combining his passion for sustainability with his expertise in business development to make a significant impact on the future of transportation.

Walters holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and business from Cabrini University (Villanova) and is eager to collaborate with others to drive the adoption of cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions. He takes over from Steve Whaley, who has transitioned to a role as an alternative fuels manager at Blue Bird Corp.
