New Addition to Teamsters Local 665: Mosquito Control Workers Join Union to Keep Communities Safe

California Public Health Officials unite with Teamsters

Teamsters Local 665 in San Francisco has welcomed the workers at the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District into their union. This decision was made unanimously by the 33 workers, who play a crucial role in protecting the health and welfare of residents in Marin and Sonoma counties from mosquitoes and vector-borne diseases.

The new members were congratulated by Mike Yates, President of Teamsters Local 665, who emphasized the importance of their work in keeping communities safe. He expressed eagerness to help them negotiate their first contract as Teamsters and address their key priorities.

These workers are responsible for various tasks such as mosquito control, delivering mosquitofish, controlling ground nesting yellowjackets, and providing advice on rodent prevention and control. Nizza Sequeira, a public information officer, highlighted the significance of the affiliation with Teamsters Local 665 and the opportunity to collaborate with them for the benefit of their team.
