Open House Celebrates National Public Health Week and Invites Communities to Improve their Well-Being

Come join us at the Kaua‘i District Health Office for an open house event – all are welcome!

The Kaua‘i District Health Office is excited to announce that they will be hosting an open house to celebrate National Public Health Week. This free event will provide the public with an opportunity to speak with Hawai‘i State Department of Health staff about various programs and actions that community members can take to address public health challenges. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about public health career and educational opportunities.

During National Public Health Week, communities across the U.S. come together to recognize the importance of public health and highlight critical issues in improving the nation’s health. This year’s theme is Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health. DOH staff will be present at the open house event, including vector control, administrative services, community health workers, public health nurses, epidemiologists, mental health professionals, food safety inspectors, disabilities case managers, and microbiologists.

National Public Health Week is an annual event that invites the public to explore the many programs and services that the DOH offers to enhance the well-being of the community. Kaua‘i District Health Officer Dr. Janet Berreman is looking forward to welcoming everyone at the event and expressing gratitude to the community and partners for their continued support in building a thriving and healthier Kaua‘i. By working together to create opportunities to understand and support public health, the entire community benefits.
