The Baltimore Orioles have acquired right-handed reliever Yohan Ramirez from the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations. Ramirez, who was designated for assignment a few days ago, appeared in three games for the Mets this season. During that time, he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing seven runs, nine hits, and walking four batters.
Despite his struggles, Ramirez managed to strike out six batters. However, he ended his time with the Mets with an 11.81 ERA and a 2.43 WHIP. One of Ramirez’s most memorable moments with the team was when he was suspended for throwing at Rhys Hoskins during the opening series against the Milwaukee Brewers. His last appearance came on April 6th against the Cincinnati Reds, where he gave up five runs over two innings.
The Mets continue to shift their roster in an effort to find the right mix of players for success. Just last Friday, they designated Michael Tonkin for assignment before trading him to the Minnesota Twins.
