Rock Ya-Sin: The Journey of a Raven to the 49ers

Rock Ya-Sin agrees to one-year contract with 49ers

San Francisco 49ers have announced the signing of cornerback Rock Ya-Sin on a one-year deal. The 27-year-old previously played for the Ravens, appearing in 14 games and recording 13 total tackles and two passes defensed with one start. He saw action on 29 percent of defensive snaps and 39 percent of special teams snaps during games played.

Originally a second-round pick in 2019, Ya-Sin began his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts before being traded to the Raiders in March of 2022. He then signed a one-year deal with the Ravens last offseason. Throughout his 66 games with 39 starts, Ya-Sin has accumulated 29 passes defended, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

With his move to the 49ers, Ya-Sin is looking to make an impact on the team’s defense and special teams units. San Francisco hopes that the addition of Ya-Sin will bolster their secondary and contribute to their overall success in the upcoming season. As Ya-Sin continues to develop and grow as a player, the 49ers are excited to see how he can help them achieve their goals moving forward.

Ya-Sin was drafted by Baltimore Ravens in round two of the NFL Draft in April of 2019. After playing three seasons for the Ravens, he was traded to Oakland Raiders in March of this year before signing with San Francisco on a one year deal. In his NFL career so far, he has played in a total of six seasons with three teams – Indianapolis Colts (one season), Oakland Raiders (one season) and Baltimore Ravens (three seasons).
