SERT Team Secures Spot at World Championships, Demonstrates Unmatched Skills and Dedication

South Eugene Robotics Team Qualifies for World Championships

For the first time ever, the South Eugene Robotics team has achieved the impressive ranking of No. 1 in the Pacific Northwest. This accomplishment has earned them a spot at the World Championships in Houston, Texas. The team, also known as SERT, focuses on building robots that can compete in races and demonstrate various skills.

At the recent Northwest District competition, SERT performed exceptionally well by winning two events, a first in their team’s history. The success of SERT is not just due to their impressive skills but also to their dedication to continuous improvement. Older students pass on their knowledge and skills to newer members, leading to a progression over the years that has brought them to this top position in their region.

SERT will be competing against 600 other robotics teams from across the globe during the 4-day competition that kicks off on April 17th. When not participating in competitions, the team engages in community outreach and service initiatives. To support their journey to the World competition, SERT is actively raising funds to cover travel expenses. Those interested in donating or providing support can visit the SERT website, sert2521.org, to learn more about the available options, including a Go Fund Me page.
