Ukraine’s High-Ranking Security Officers Arrested on Suspicion of Being Involved in Assassination Plot Coordinated with Russian Agents

Ukraine claims to have foiled plot to assassinate Zelensky

In a shocking announcement, two high-ranking Ukrainian security officers were arrested on suspicion of being involved in an assassination plot, according to sources. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that the plot was coordinated with Russian agents and targeted key Ukrainian officials, including the prime minister and chief of staff.

The information about the plot was gathered through wiretapping and interrogations of suspects, said Ukrainian security officials. President Zelensky’s office acknowledged the reports and announced that his security had been increased in response to the threat.

Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, there have been concerns for Zelensky’s safety as he has become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance. While there have been previous reports of assassination attempts against the president, this is considered the most significant threat to date.

There has been no response from the Kremlin regarding Ukraine’s claims about the alleged assassination plan attributed to Russian security services. The situation remains tense as both countries navigate escalating tensions and security concerns.
