A group of Northern Michigan University (NMU) students have established Wildcat Snow & Lawn, a business that provides affordable lawn care and snow removal services to the Marquette community. As part of an entrepreneurship class project, the students are learning on the fly as they work to develop a successful business in a single semester.
The six-person team has already lined up future jobs, despite a recent cancellation due to unexpected snowfall. Customers can choose from a variety of services, including lawn mowing, leaf removal, and snow plowing, and easily book appointments with the group through their website. Pricing ranges from $15 for smaller jobs to $30-$40 for larger yards.
Those interested in receiving lawn care or snow removal services have until the last week of April to sign up. Wildcat Snow & Lawn is available to customers within a half-hour radius of Marquette. To schedule services, individuals can visit the group’s website and register for the services they need.
The students are dedicated to helping the Marquette community while gaining valuable entrepreneurial experience through their semester-long business project. All proceeds from the business will go towards benefiting Habitat for Humanity, as the students are not profiting personally from their work.
